As a safety precaution we always recommend you backup your data from within the program before installing a new release or major update such as from version 16.0 to 17.0. (From within PPP, click on the menu item File, Database...Manual Backup...) Do not manually remove any paths after the uninstall is complete or you will lose your data. The normal uninstall will NOT delete your data files.

Note #1: If you install the program directly to a mapped network drive (such as Z:\), you will
encounter errors when the installation program tries to register several files.
The error and files will be as follows:
Error 1904.
Module Z:\SSInput.ocx failed to register.
HRESULT -2147312566. Contact your
support personnel.
... and a similar error on the
following files:
SSCala32.ocx, IGResizer40.ocx,
IGThread40.ocx, IGScroll40.ocx, PVMask.ocx
If you
encounter these errors click the 'Continue' or 'Ignore' button and finish the
installation. This will not affect the final outcome.
UPDATE: PPP cannot be
installed on a mapped network drive as of version 6.0
Note #2:
If installing on Win2000 or Win2003, you may encounter errors installing the
following files:
Error 1931 -msadox.dll
Error 1904 - shfolder.dll
Ignore these errors and
continue.
Note #3: If after installing Personal Property Pro, you get an error when running the program such as :
'Provider Cannot
Be Found' ... or a similar
error, you may need to
install newer versions of Microsoft Jet Access Files or Microsoft
MDAC files. You or your
network administrator should try the following to resolve the issue: |
